Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between 6+6 and 9+0?
The 6+6 structure includes 6 hours of driving and 6 hours of observation. The 9+0 structure includes 9 one-hour driving sessions and eliminates observation hours, giving students more hands-on driving time.
Which teen course is most popular?
Every student learns differently — and our programs are designed to meet them where they are. Some students progress quickly and may need less behind‑the‑wheel time, while others benefit from additional, individualized instruction to build confidence and strengthen key skills. Our goal is to give each family the flexibility to choose the level of support that feels right for their student.
Who is the Road Test Prep Course best for?
Designed for students with a DMV test coming up in the next 30 days — and for families who want peace of mind. Get a professional readiness review, pinpoint any final skill gaps, and walk into test day fully prepared and confident.
Do adults need a permit before private lessons?
Adults must have a valid learner’s permit before starting private lessons. To ensure safe, effective instruction, students should also have a strong understanding of the English language for clear communication behind the wheel
Where does pick up and drop off happen?
Student private lessons include pick up and drop off at the student’s current high school or closest high school pick-up location. Adult private lessons include pick up and drop off within 10 miles of the MJM office, with additional travel fees applied outside that range.
Important note: Adults must already have their permit before beginning private lessons.
Pick up and drop off are included within 10 miles of the MJM office. Every additional 10-mile increment will be assessed an additional $20 travel fee, calculated at checkout.
